WhatsApp said Yes to Facebook

Facebook to acquire WhatsApp $16 Billion Deal

Facebook has agreed to acquire messaging service WhatsApp for approximately $16 billion, including $4 billion in cash and about $12 billion worth of Facebook shares. It is Facebook's largest purchase deal to date.

Facebook is an online social networking services, it was founded on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg.
Till date Facebook has done many Acquisition, but deal with Whats app seems to be quite interesting.
Well Talking about WhatsApp Messenger is a proprietary, cross-platform instant messaging subscription service for smartphones. In addition to text messaging, users can send each other images, video, and audio media messages as well as their location using integrated mapping features. The client software is available for Google Android, BlackBerry OS, Apple iOS, and Symbian,Microsoft Windows Phone.

Merger has a great potential which can make the world more open and connected.According to me, I find it an amazing deal because in todays date Facebook and Whats App are the only social apps used most worldwide, registering 450 million users on whats app and 1.11 billion user on Facebook which makes Facebook the biggest giant in social networking. another point I would like to highlight is even after acquisition WhatsApp will remain autonomous and operate independently to maintain its brand name in users mind.
Doing this will give WhatsApp the flexibility to grow and expand, while giving the rest of the team more time to focus on building a communications service that is as fast, affordable and personal as possible. Acquisition speeds up Facebook’s ability to bring connectivity and utility to the world. While leading mobile messaging company,
we can also continue to enjoy the service for a nominal fee.
